i don’t ship ronnie with any of the heathers. i really don’t. veronica has hate and disdain for the heathers, minus mcnamara, who she does see a little more positively but mostly in the way you see an injured animal. slightly pathetic, but generally harmless. ronnie would never enter a relationship with any of them because she sees herself as above them in basically every aspectveronica is a massive fucking liar when she says she just wants to make the school a better place. she is justifying her own actions to herself so she can stomach the horrible shit she’s doing. she is not a nice person; she has empathy but that’s often outweighed by what her self serving nature dictates is more important (ie; herself)she does not live much longer than her second year of college- she has deep issues after the events of the film that she literally can’t see a therapist for because then she’d be confessing to several murders, so she doesn’t get the help she needs (just like she always hasn’t ever gotten) and can’t cope with iti typically write veronica post-events of the film. i have been writing her for nearly 5 years now, and so i've found canon to be quite boring. i can analyze any aspect for you, but in terms of roleplaying, i usually only write her in college or beyondif veronica hadn’t been actively interested in the shit the heathers were pulling, heather chandler would never have kept her around as long as she did. veronica was not weakly dragged along all apathetic through peer pressure; she actually enjoyed what was going on, at least at first, before growing out of them and deciding to play along because it would be easier for herthe main themes of her motivations will be selfishness, self interest, self preservation, hate, and bitterness. dynamics with her will have the first layer of a strange half-earnest and honest, half completely fake and manicured persona that she keeps up in order to make sure she keeps most people at arm’s length. she cannot trust anybody anymore, and honestly? for good reason. you will not be able to tell what she’s being fake about, but she’s definitely going to leave a plastic-y taste in your mouth at first. deeper down she is severely damaged in ways she probably won’t be able to fix. she is not an easy person to be around, but i would say she is a very rewarding one to be near, for myriad reasons

PERSONALITYA child is the product of their environment- and Veronica has never once not been under pressure to be anything less than perfect. From a neglectful home where the only attention she would get was when she'd excelled at something, to a friend group that would reward her for being a tool rather than a partner in any way, Veronica learned quickly how to use her skills and emotions to control and lord over her surroundings.

Somewhere in the grey area between considerate, empathetic, and kind; and selfish,
cold, composed, and uncaring; Veronica is in a very transitional period of her own
existence. Even before the chaos of JD’s Master Plans, Ronnie wasn’t exactly sure who or
what she was going to turn into. Feeling guilt for her cruel pranks with the Heathers, and
yet continuing to enact them in order to maintain her social status; Veronica isn’t quite
ready to let go of the parachute of selfishness that protects her, even though her
own conscience is starting to push her away from her comfort zone of casual cruelty.

Veronica is gifted; with a genius level IQ, her parents considered moving
her up into high school directly from grade 6 in order to keep
her challenged, but they eventually decided not to. They'd blamed it on
the fact that she would have trouble socializing with her peers, but the
real reason was somewhere closer to the concept of them not wanting
to have to give the extra support she would need to adjust. It was easier
for everyone involved to keep her where she was, but that only fostered
a deep boredom in her that would fester as she grew up.

All in all, Veronica isn’t somebody who wants to do good-
she wants to want to do good, and she’s not quite there yet.
The traumatic experience of all of those dead students was
enough to knock her out of her villain lifestyle; although if
she’ll be able to cope with the guilt on her own is still up
for debate.

INTELLIGENCE: Both book smarts and street smarts, Veronica is a genius in many ways. Unfortunately for her, a lot of schoolwork doesn’t challenge her much, and so she chooses to study things outside on her own time that interest her- These include ancient history, epistemology, languages (French for fun, and German for paranoia), and mythology.FORGERIES: Ronnie has the ability to create fantastic forgeries, so long as she has a sample of handwriting from the person she’s mimicking. A skill she’d learned in her youth when her parents would be away too often to get permission slips signed, she’d learned to expand her horizons to make a miniature empire in her schools to get anyone out of anything. She’ll even do prescriptions, if you pay her a good fee for it- she’s not taking that big of a risk without a bigger reward.EMPATHY: Despite herself and all her sharp edges, Ronnie is actually pretty closely in-tune with the feelings of the people around her (it’s whether or not she’ll make a move to help out that really matters). At her best, she’s a very good friend- those in her circles typically want for nothing,FIREARMS: Shockingly, Veronica has a natural affinity for guns. Despite never having used one before in her life, she can aim pretty close to target when she wants to. The strangest aspect is the fact that she tends to have better aim if she closes her eyes while pulling the trigger; her working theory is that it stops her from overthinking and over-correcting at the last second, trusting her gut and staying steadier. She is only proficient in small handguns, like revolvers and pistols.

MANIPULATOR: Sometimes a skill, sometimes a weakness; Veronica is very good at socially manipulating the people around her. A little less aggressive in her tactics than the rest of the Heathers, Ronnie is skilled at cornering people with false kindness, as well as being able to tell what an individual’s sensitive spots may be.SELFISHNESS: Veronica is exceptionally selfish- of all traits, this is the one that motivates most of her actions. Leaving old friend groups, joining in on bullying other students, forging her way out of things she has no interest in doing; Ronnie will do what she wants in order to GET what she wants, despite the guilt she begins to feel about it.EASILY MANIPULATED: Despite the fact that she is a fantastic manipulator, Ronnie is also easily manipulated herself. Part of her thinks that’s the reason why she’s able to get at other people's sore spots- the fact that she's very aware of the ways people can get her under their thumb allows her to use those tactics on others, but that means she's never really on top of anything. Heather was able to lure her in with friendship and affection (for a time), and JD was able to love-bomb her so effectively that it only took 24 hours to do the unthinkable with him.DESPERATE FOR VALIDATION: Veronica has essentially talked herself down enough to the point where she does not know what value she has outside of what she can do for other people, and she will sabotage relationships that do not actively use her in some way, shape, or form. It's extremely damaging, and only exacerbates her other issues, but she cannot accept kindness for the sake of it, and she must "earn her keep" in whatever dynamic she is in.

HISTORYThe Sawyers did not have their child out of love, or desire; it was quite literally the last item on the checklist towards having a picture-perfect life. They had the house, the jobs, but no child- A sacrifice that Barbara would make, to her perfect body, in order to have what society said she should.Veronica did not deserve to be treated like a toy, but that's essentially what she was. Dressed up in pretty clothes her mom picked out, paraded around to get-togethers to show off how beautiful, how intelligent, how dignified the Sawyer daughter was; Barbara wouldn't pay much attention to her outside of her outside of these pageantry-adjacent events, and as Veronica grew older, she began to rebel in order to gain their attention in any way. It never paid off, though, and Ronnie became increasingly jaded towards her family and her own sense of self. This is why her friendship with Betty Finn deteriorated, in the end. Her family’s insistence on being the best and taking it to the top made Veronica value her skills above her own personhood, and when Betty simply liked being around Ronnie as a person, she ditched her for faker friends that gave her the validation she craved and the power she was taught she needed.Veronica was friends with the Heathers for around two years- the first year was fantastic, exactly the kind of teenage dream she’d always been expecting. However, as they old got older, the power struggles began to force cracks between them, and Veronica herself began to outgrow all of the ridiculous petty games they would play.It wasn’t until Jason Dean came to town that she would find her escape from the top tier of Westerburg’s social circles.Heather Chandler first, then Kurt and Ram; Veronica’s only guilt came from the fact that she really didn’t feel any guilt. Not at first, at least, when she was in the haze of JD’s manipulations, and then not afterwards when she’d twisted the events in her head in the hopes of being able to cope with what she’d been a part of. Suicides were easy to fake because nobody in Sherwood cared enough to look deeper into anything- She and JD gave them an easy answer, and they took the pill without a second thought. She thought it would be harder than it was to get away with it all; but maybe she’d over estimated her fellow man.Now that you’re dead, what are you going to do with your life? After everything; the killings, the threats, the breakup, faking her own suicide to escape becoming his next target, marching down to the boiler room to stop him from setting the whole school off, watching him extend his arms outwards as he allowed his father’s bombs to take him like they’d taken his mother… He’d left her with such an enigmatic last statement, a question she didn’t know how to answer. I’m not dead! I’m still here, asshole, you couldn’t take me with you no matter how hard you tried! But that wasn’t the point, was it? As the days turned to weeks, and months, and somehow everything went back to a strange, dreamlike kind of normal, she began to understand. She WAS dead, in a way- inside, afraid of what she was capable of, unwilling to move to discover more, suspicious of everyone capable of taking away the last threads of a life she had left, and incapable of moving forwards thanks to the horrible things she’d done with someone that had died to leave her alone with the guilt. That’s a death, isn’t it? What kind of life can she lead now?She doesn’t know. She’s not sure she’ll ever really know. But by god if she’s going to waste the opportunity she’d fought so hard to get back.
